Happy Memorial Day!!!

This Memorial day was a little different in that we usually have a big cookout at our house and all of our family comes over, but this year we decided that we would just hang out at home and have a family day. It was great! We did a whole lot of nothing. About 5:00 we decided we would run to the new Target to look for Aidan a bedspread since he is getting ready to be booted out of his crib by Parker. FYI- I love the new Target and it is really nice because you don't have to go into Tulsa to shop! We decided that we would run and eat at the new Charleston's by Bass Pro- very good! While we were eating we noticed Aidan was being really quiet so James looked down and he was stuffing his sandals with his crayons. James started to make him stop and I said why he isn't hurting anything. He was being good and we were able to have a nice conversation. Motherhood has definitely taught me to pick my battles. Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day!!!

Mason and Aidan

Last Wednesday I watched Mason for Jill. He and Aidan had a lot of fun playing together, but I think Mason got a little tired of all of Aidan's hugs. They had a good time and it was fun watching them interact together. I wish that Jill lived closer so that they were able to play more. I'm sure they would be BFF's! Maybe someday!!!

Rough Day

Yesterday was a rough day at our house! Aidan was definitely in rare form. It was one of those days that makes you stop and question all of you parenting skills. We went to church on Sunday night and he acted great! Then after church we decided we would run and get something to eat. Big mistake!!! When we got to El Charro I could just tell something wasn't right. Aidan dumped his sauce out, threw chips on the floor, hit at us, pushed most of his fries off of his plate in a tantrum, pulled his straw out of his cup just to fling Sprite everywhere, knocked his cup over on purpose, etc. Are you getting the gist of it? I have honestly never seen him act like this and I hope it was just a one time thing. James and I finally just got to go boxes and took our food with us. On the way home James and I started talking about his behavior and questioning our parenting skills. You know the questions like-are we spanking him enough, are we spanking him too much, are we consistent, should we try sending him to time out more. I think we pretty much just over analyzed the situation and finally chalked it up to him just having a bad day! Don't we all have those from time to time. I'm praying that is all it was. Then we started talking about how grateful we are that he is able to be a stinker. There are so many children in this world that are sick and unhealthy so we just tried to find the bright side of his bad day! That night when he went to bed I had to take a picture of him because he looked so sweet and innocent. He really is such a good baby. We are so blessed to have him and will just learn to take the good days with the bad!

Family Picnic and a Rabbit Chase

We had a picnic for Parents as Teachers on Thursday night. We had so much fun and the kids had a great time playing on the playground. Right before we got ready to leave a rabbit that the kids had been torturing all night some how got into the gate where we were playing. James thought he would be real cool and try to catch it. All I have to stay is the rabbit won. The pictures say it all!

It's a...

boy!!! We are so excited and couldn't be happier. I am so glad that Aidan is going to have a little brother to play and of course fight with. The ultrasound tech said that he looked perfect. James and I are so relieved to know that everything is developing as it should be. My official due date is September 30th. I guess it's time to start getting things ready. We can't wait!

Just saying hi!

18 Weeks

I had a drs. appointment today and everything is going great. I measured 19 weeks and the babies heartbeat was 152 bpm. They scheduled my ultrasound for Thursday so please be praying that everything is healthy with our baby. We can't wait to see it again. I am so tempted to find out the sex eventhough I know it would be a great surprise to wait. I'm not sure what to do. So maybe by Thursday we will know what color to paint the nursery.

In the Army Now...

James has this camoflauge hat that someone gave to him and Aidan loves to wear it. I took some pictures of him in it and just wanted to share.
