Christmas '09

Can you believe that we had a white Christmas this year. It was beautiful! I'm so excited that Parker's first Christmas was a white one! It was also Aidan's first white Christmas. We had a wonderful Christmas day. We started the day by waking up at 11:30. Yes, I said 11:30. I'm sure I won't have to many more Christmas mornings like that. We are so glad the boys slept that late because James and I were up until 4:00 putting together Aidan's train table. We were exhausted to say the least, but seeing his face on Christmas morning made it totally worth it. After we all got around we went to James' family for Christmas dinner. It was so yum, and my favorite thing was a fruit salad that my mother-in-law made. It was so delicious! I ate entirely too much! After we left we went down the road to my sister's house and ate some more. We had a great time visiting. We are so blessed to have such great families, and so many people that love our boys.

Twas the Night Before Christmas

and all through the house not a creature was stirring not even a mouse! Tonight we went to my parent's house for Christmas Eve. It was such a beautiful night. The snow was coming down, and it was great to be surrounded by my family. After we ate we decided we would watch our all time favorite Christmas movie, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Oh I can't tell you how much I love that movie, and the joy it brings to my heart to watch my dad laugh while we watch it. I think we have the whole thing memorized, and we quote it all year long. It was just a wonderful night, and I feel so blessed to have such an awesome family! Here are a few pictures of the boys at my parents house, and before bed in their Christmas pajamas!

Poor Misty!

Sweet Parker!

Grandma Margie loving on Parker!

I'm thinking he's not supposed to have that!

Christmas Pictures

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Love,
The Noblitts

Pajama Party

We had our annual OPAT pajama party on Tuesday night. We had different crafts for the kids to make. They made reindeer food, Christmas trees, and reindeer headbands. They all turned out so cute! I just love the headbands, but Aidan wasn't too fond of them. I basically had to force him to wear it so I could get a few pictures. Isn't that what moms are supposed to do??? Aidan had such a fun time! He played and ran so hard that when we got into the car he crashed! Parker pretty much slept the whole time. Seems to be his favorite past time. It was a great party, and I love what I do! I am truly blessed to have such a fun, family oriented job!

2 Month Checkup

So we went for Parker's two month visit and he is doing wonderful! He is growing like a weed, literally! He weighs 15.7 pounds and is almost 24 inches long. That is above 95% in weight and 75% in height. He's a big boy, and a great eater. Dr. Cole said he was doing great, and to keep doing what we are doing! He also rolled over for the first time from his tummy to his back at the doctor's office. I think he was showing out because he hasn't done it since. After the checkup he had to get shots, and that was terrible! I hate holding his arms when they do that. It just makes me feel awful! I know I am doing what is best for him, but it is still hard! We are very thankful that he is doing so well, and go back in two months for his 4 month visit.

Curious George Live!

We took Aidan to see Curious George Live on Friday night. I have to say he had a great time, but couldn't make it through the whole show! Afterwards, we went to eat at Zio's and he ate so much. It was nice getting to spend some time with just him. I know that is so important because I think sometimes he feels a little jealous. Mr. Parker stayed with my sister Sandra. They had a great time with him. I'm pretty sure his back didn't touch anything besides someones arm most of the time we were gone. They kind of like him. My sister said he smiled and cooed all night long.

2 Months

Parker, I can't believe I'm writing this post. Where has my little baby gone! You are two months old, and are the sweetest little guy! I wish I could stop time, and keep you this age forever! Too bad it doesn't work like that. We went to eat the other night and the waiter asked me if I had a 4 monther. I laughed and said try 7 weeks. You are such a big boy! What a blessing you are and we can't wait to watch you continue to grow and develop. Some of the things you are doing these days are:
1. You are smiling a lot, and I love it!
2. You will "talk" to us when we talk to you.
3. We go to the Dr on Monday so not quite sure of your weight and height!
4. You have the funniest cry when you want to be held. It is so pitiful and cute!
5. You can hold your head pretty steady.
6. You can track things.
7. You know my voice. If I start to talk to you and don't pick you up I am in big trouble. You will usually immediately start your "hold me" cry.
8. You loved to be rocked and sung too. At night I will usually rock you and sing to you until you fall to sleep. It has become my favorite time of the day.
9. You laugh in your sleep.
10. Your belly is so much better, any we are all happy about that.
11. You are still eating every 3 hours, but there is one time during the night where you will usually stretch it to 5 hours. That makes me a happy girl!
12. You have also started drooling a ton. I hope this doesn't mean you are trying to cut teeth. Surely not!
13. You lift your head up when we are having "tummy time." Not you most favorite time of the day!

You are the best baby, and we love you to pieces. I thank God every day for you and your brother. You both have made my world a better place. I can't imagine life without you. Your daddy and I always laugh and joke about before we had you and Aidan. Our life was so boring. I love you little boy!

It's My Party...

and I'll cry if I want to. That pretty much sums up part of our day today! Aidan was mad because my parents left, and Parker was crying just because! So what did I do, break out the camera! I never want to miss an opportunity for a good picture! I just know that they will love seeing this in a few years.

I'm thinking by the look on his face he's not "digging" us too much!

Nope, still not "digging" us!

Poor baby! All he wanted was for his papa and grandma to stay. In their defense they asked him to go, but he didn't want to. He wanted the best of both worlds- grandparents and parents.

"I guess I'll just pick my nose."

Happy Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving this year. We started out at James' family and then went to mine. The food was great, and we both ate way too much! I don't think we ate as much as usual because we were busy chasing and taking care of our boys. After we left my parents we went home and Aidan and James took a nap. Parker and I just hung out and when he took a nap I had some quiet time! It was really nice. I got a load of laundry done, and just piddled around! When the boys woke up we went back over to my parents for leftovers. I can honestly say I really don't want anymore turkey for a long time! It's funny how you wait all year for Thanksgiving dinner and you eat so much that you don't want it again for a year! We always do casseroles for Christmas Eve, and my mom fixes baked potato soup and sandwiches for Christmas day. It is so yummy and a nice change from the "traditional" meal. I walked off this year and forgot my camera, and my phone went dead so I couldn't use the camera on it. So no pictures! I hate that because it was Parker's first Thanksgiving. At least we didn't forget the boys! :) Anyway, we had a wonderful Thanksgiving and have much to be thankful for! We are truly blessed, and it was so nice to have Parker with us this year. He is the best little guy, and a wonderful addition to our family. I just love him so much! James and I are so thankful to have two sweet little boys! God is so good!

Sleep Deprivation

Top Ten Reasons You Know You're Sleep Deprived

10. You walk around all day with breast milk caked to your shirt.
9. Your friend comes over and comments on Aidan's diaper and how it is sagging to the floor. *Please don't turn me into DHS. I really am a good mom. I think!
8. Your husband refers to going to bed as taking a nap.
7. You carry the huge stuffed lion out of your son's bedroom and try to take it to bed with you.
6. You wake up to find a partially eaten doughnut on your nightstand, and wonder how in the world it got there.
5. You and your husband have an argument at 3 am and the next morning you remember you were fighting, but have no idea why!
4. You go to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription for your child, and when they ask for his birth date you have to stop and think about it. Give me a break. It was Parker. He hasn't been alive that long!
3. You are telling a story to a group of people and stop mid sentence and have no idea what you were going to say next. Talk about embarrassing!
2. You walk into a room and just stand in there wondering why did I come in here. I know there was a reason, but can't remember what it was!
and the number 1 reason you know you're sleep deprived...
1. You take a bag of breast milk out of the fridge and start filling your two year old son's sippy cup up with it instead of regular milk! Pretty sure he would have known the difference!

I actually wrote this post about 3 weeks ago, and am just now finishing it. I am happy to report that Mr. Parker is now only waking up twice in the middle of the night to eat. Such a good little boy! He is the best baby! Praise the Lord for acid reflux medicine, and a doctor who is so good to listen to us and always do what is best for my babies. It has made a world of difference for him! It was terrible seeing him in so much pain! We are all getting more sleep now! Well, except for James. He can't sleep real well because his shoulder hurts, but he is on the mend!

Curious George and His Banana

This Halloween I decided that it would be cute for Aidan to be Curious George, and Parker could be his little banana. Well part of my plan worked. Parker loved being a banana, but Aidan wasn't too fond of wearing his George costume. He loves George, but did not like wearing his costume at all. So I was a little disappointed with the pictures of Halloween this year, but I got a few! We did have a very fun Halloween. First, we went to trunk or treat at the church, and then went to a friend's house for a party and more trick or treating. Great food, great fellowship, and Aidan had a great time. What more can you ask for?
The only picture I got with his hood up! Isn't he a cute George?

My sweet little banana! I could just bite those fat little cheeks!

Mama Margie and her little banana!

Parker was really into trick or treating this year. Can't you tell?

Aidan trick or treating at sweet Mary Burton's trunk! I love that lady! She was like my grandma growing up.

Aunt Sandra and Aidan trick or treating. Poor Aunt Sandra had to carry Aidan most of the way because I was still unable to lift him, and James was with Parker. She didn't complain at all, but just informed me next year to bring my wagon. Ha! She is the best aunt ever, and I truly mean that. She loves my boys so much! Thank you, Aunt Sandra for everything you do for our family!

The back of Aidan's costume.

Papa and his boys! I'm pretty sure that Parker has already stolen his papa's heart just like his big brother! I'm so glad they have such a great Papa! We only wish James' dad was here to share these special moments with us!

Aidan loved this toy! It kept him entertained most of the night!

Blessings

My two little blessings!

I will just start by saying this has been a very tough week. James was in a car accident on Tuesday and broke his shoulder. So on Wednesday I had a little pity party for myself. Parker had kept me up until 4:00 am, and James is usually always so good to help me, but now he can't because he is in a lot of pain. I was completely exhausted and during James' doctor's appointment Parker went crazy. He had a colic attack and decided he would let the whole office know about it. It's funny how things hit you at the most inopportune times. Thinking back on it I was really stressed because I couldn't get him to stop, and I was very tired. I also hate it when he hurts and there is nothing that I can do to calm him! Tears started rolling down my face, and then it was like somebody slapped me in the face and said, "Kristie, you are so blessed to have this baby that is crying your arms right now." While I was walking Parker and kissing his sweet little head, and waiting on James I started thinking about all of my blessings. It started putting things into perspective for me real quick. I have a wonderful husband, two healthy and beautiful babies, wonderful parents and family, church family, a God who forgives me and loves me know matter how many times I fail him, a home, a wonderful job that allows me to take my children to work with me, I honestly could go on and on! So by the time we left they were no longer tears of sadness, but tears of joy! It doesn't matter how rough life gets we are so extremely blessed! I think from now on when I get upset or run down I will just stop and count my blessings! I honestly thing you can find good in every situation if you just look hard enough! We truly have so many reasons to be thankful!

1 Month Birthday

Parker you are one month old today! You have blessed our lives more than you will ever know! Some of the things you are doing these days are:
1. sleeping for 3 hours at a time- most nights.
2. you can lift your head up while on your tummy and look around.
3. you have 3 very distinct cries- hungry, colic, and I want my mommy
4. you are experiencing some tummy troubles :(
5. you smile sometimes, but I think it might still be just gas.
6. you are a lot more alert, and are starting to stay awake for longer periods of time.
7. you cooed at me for the first time the other night, melted my heart!
8. you weighed 11 pounds 4 days ago, but I'm sure that you weigh more now. You kind of have your mom's appetite! You are also 22 inches long.
9. as you can see from the pictures, you have two clogged tear ducts we think. We are constantly wiping your eyes out. You are already beating your brother at something. He only had one that was clogged!

I'm sure there is more, but I will have to think and add to my list. Happy 1 month birthday little man. We love you!

Soggy Doritos

My family was having a healthy snack today of Cool Ranch Doritos. I know, probably not the most nutritionally sound snack, but these days at our house it's all about survival. Healthy is not really in my thoughts right now. So back to the story. If I'm rambling it's probably because I've only had about 5 hours sleep, and I require 8 or 9. I reach in the sack and pull out a Dorito shove it in my mouth to find that it is a little soggy and wet. It then dawned on me that my lovely son had been sucking the seasoning off and sticking them back in the bag. Something we have all wanted to do from time to time, but have the self control not to. Well a two year old just doesn't care, and it is all about the taste.
Moral to this story: Don't eat Doritos if you come to our house!

Breastfeeding 101

Today I look over at Aidan and he has my breast pump out trying to get it under his shirt to pump. I guess maybe he has seen too much! I really never think about it because I just feel like it's a natural part of life. I hate to break it to him that no matter how hard he tries he will never get any milk to come out. James and I just died laughing because he was so serious, and it was just funny! Let's just say he's very curious these days. Maybe I should start being a little more discreet. Hopefully he doesn't go to bible class and teach all the kids how to nurse or pump. Oh well, he will make someone an excellent husband someday! He is becoming quite the expert on breastfeeding.

Big Brother

Aidan is enjoying being a big brother. He is very protective over Parker. My friend Jana came over to visit us and acted like she was going to leave with Parker. Aidan didn't like it one little bit! He is adjusting okay. I know it will take some time, but I think he's doing pretty well considering. They are so cute together, and we feel so blessed that Aidan has a brother! I'm not going to lie we have our rough patches during the day, but it is definitely worth it! There is nothing like Aidan upset because we're not paying enough attention to him, and Parker screaming because he wants to nurse! I mean really does it get any better! Ha!
