1 Month Birthday

Parker you are one month old today! You have blessed our lives more than you will ever know! Some of the things you are doing these days are:
1. sleeping for 3 hours at a time- most nights.
2. you can lift your head up while on your tummy and look around.
3. you have 3 very distinct cries- hungry, colic, and I want my mommy
4. you are experiencing some tummy troubles :(
5. you smile sometimes, but I think it might still be just gas.
6. you are a lot more alert, and are starting to stay awake for longer periods of time.
7. you cooed at me for the first time the other night, melted my heart!
8. you weighed 11 pounds 4 days ago, but I'm sure that you weigh more now. You kind of have your mom's appetite! You are also 22 inches long.
9. as you can see from the pictures, you have two clogged tear ducts we think. We are constantly wiping your eyes out. You are already beating your brother at something. He only had one that was clogged!

I'm sure there is more, but I will have to think and add to my list. Happy 1 month birthday little man. We love you!

Soggy Doritos

My family was having a healthy snack today of Cool Ranch Doritos. I know, probably not the most nutritionally sound snack, but these days at our house it's all about survival. Healthy is not really in my thoughts right now. So back to the story. If I'm rambling it's probably because I've only had about 5 hours sleep, and I require 8 or 9. I reach in the sack and pull out a Dorito shove it in my mouth to find that it is a little soggy and wet. It then dawned on me that my lovely son had been sucking the seasoning off and sticking them back in the bag. Something we have all wanted to do from time to time, but have the self control not to. Well a two year old just doesn't care, and it is all about the taste.
Moral to this story: Don't eat Doritos if you come to our house!

Breastfeeding 101

Today I look over at Aidan and he has my breast pump out trying to get it under his shirt to pump. I guess maybe he has seen too much! I really never think about it because I just feel like it's a natural part of life. I hate to break it to him that no matter how hard he tries he will never get any milk to come out. James and I just died laughing because he was so serious, and it was just funny! Let's just say he's very curious these days. Maybe I should start being a little more discreet. Hopefully he doesn't go to bible class and teach all the kids how to nurse or pump. Oh well, he will make someone an excellent husband someday! He is becoming quite the expert on breastfeeding.

Big Brother

Aidan is enjoying being a big brother. He is very protective over Parker. My friend Jana came over to visit us and acted like she was going to leave with Parker. Aidan didn't like it one little bit! He is adjusting okay. I know it will take some time, but I think he's doing pretty well considering. They are so cute together, and we feel so blessed that Aidan has a brother! I'm not going to lie we have our rough patches during the day, but it is definitely worth it! There is nothing like Aidan upset because we're not paying enough attention to him, and Parker screaming because he wants to nurse! I mean really does it get any better! Ha!
